Here's what I do when I'm not watching tv

I have become such a bum this week, all I want to do is lay on my couch and watch reality television. It's really dangerous because I get sucked into reality shows so quickly and easily, it's pretty much like a disease. I keep trying to justify my laziness because I actually was pretty busy all weekend, I mean I went all the way to St. Pete to see the Avett Brothers in concert and party hard with my friends (actually we may have partied too hard because we almost got into three separate fights but that's a different blog!) and then Monday I went kayaking with my mom and my sister in the Everglades (we saw a manatee!! Pictures coming soon) my life is just so awesome I need a week to recover. Umm yeah. So since I've been laying around I don't have any new outfit pictures but I thought I would share a project I just finished for one of my classes. We has to create a one to two minute digital story about any topic so I did mine about a trip to the park with my sister.

Sewing Skirts and Sweaters

I did some quick sewing projects this weekend. I really enjoy tailoring clothes rather than making things totally from scrath because I always get bored with projects half way though when I do that. So this weekend I finally got around to doing a little hemming and taking in.

I got this skirt at a thrift store a few weeks ago but it was a little long and I just can't wear things that go past my knees, it makes me feel too amish. So I just hemmed it a few inches but not too much because this way I can still wear it to work.


This cardigan was actually part of my secret santa gift from a co-worker but it was too big, I took it in on the arms and in the back and then I added the K!


Every time I wear this skirt I end up styling it really preppy I don't know what it is.


I did some other sewing projects but one will be a gift and it's not done yet and the other was repairing a button on one of Natan's shirts so it wasn't very exciting.

This weekend I didn't do much except a work event and lots of school work. I thought that I would do a post with some of the pictures that I took during my blogging break, because even though I wasn't blogging I always had the intention to blog.

The decorations on my blazer, the Oslo one was a gift from a friend, I got the Niagara Falls one a few years when Natan and I went there and I can't remember where I got the Florida.


And another one of my favorite skirts, this one my mom brought back from France for me, she got it at a thrift store there.

Promises

Hi all! I'm still here and I haven't forgotten about my blog, in fact I feel terrible about neglecting it the past two months, especially after hearing from so many people that they missed it! I really appreciated hearing that because sometimes it can feel very self-involved to continually post pictures of yourself so it's nice to have encouragement. And so with that I'm sorry that I just suddenly stopped blogging, this semester in school has really been so overwhelming and much busier than last semester. I've also been looking into making some changes with my blog so I wasn't feeling motivated to post because I wanted to complete that but it will be more time consuming than I thought so I will continue to blog here and I will try to not just drop off like that again.

In other news, I got this awesome new coat from my work thrift store! It was only $8! And it's really not that thick so it's perfect for Florida weather, it also has a secret pocket (not pictured) so it's perfect for sneaks like me.


When Natan saw the coat he asked, "Who are you Lady Bird Johnson?"


I'm also in love with this grey skirt that I got at my work thrift store as well.


And these earrings are from my aunt, she made them! She actually gave them to my mom but I guilted my mom into giving them to me!
