Voting

Sometimes I tell people that everyday of my life is like playing dress up and this Tuesday, Election day was a good example. It's not as if I walk around in ridiculous costumes all the time but when I get dressed in the mornings I think about what I will be doing that day and dress up for it. So since it was election day I wanted to wear red, white and blue. So I wore this tank top that was given to me by a friend and my shorts that I love from Forever 21. Sometimes I really want to hate Forever 21, it's always a chaotic mess in the store and their dresses and pants are always too short for me so it's depressing but I found this shorts a few weeks ago and although they are very short I have no problems wearing short shorts. I just love shorts that are made from dress pant materials and these are blue pin stripes! What's not to love?

I was very enthusiastic about voting.

This year marks the 90 year anniversary of when women got the right to vote in this country so I was happy to be able to vote and also to reflect about what it means that we only were given the right to vote so recently, because in historical terms 90 years is not very long. It also made me think about how far women's rights still have to go, especially in other countries. Anyways, I was excited and happy to vote and I love talking with the old people who volunteer at the voting precinct.

I think about my outfits in terms of dressing up too! Sometimes I'll do themes, like preppy jumper or mexican peasant top and build on that. At least when I get to work in the office. Field days are pretty jumping dogs/kneeling in dirt friendly.

I didn't know it was the 90th anniversary. Makes me want to go watch Iron Jawed Angels. So good!

I think I offended my friend when I got mad that she wasn't voting. I don't understand how you can choose not to vote in such an impt election as this one. She is registered in this town, she had the time to do it, she is an intelligent person. But apparently couldn't be bothered to spend 30 minutes reading up on the core issues. It still makes me kind of annoyed. I don't know why I take it so personally.
